Appealing a Suspension

Suspensions & Hearings

In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 90 Section 28, any person who disagrees with a decision of the Registrar to suspend/revoke a learner's permit or driver's license/right to operate may, within ten (10) days of the Registry of Motor Vehicles decision, appeal to the Board of Appeals on Motor Vehicle Liability, Policies and Bonds. However, the filing of an appeal will not stay the suspension/revocation, so you must still comply with the terms of the suspension/revocation until a ruling is made on the appeal.

For instructions on appealing a suspension, please visit the Board of Appeals website.
